Boone Elementary School is an exemplary school in SW Austin that values each child. We strive to provide the highest quality instruction for each child while developing the whole child. Students learn the value of risk-taking and develop the skills and confidence they need for real-world situations. The Creative Learning Initiative provides arts rich strategies to explore and learn new content. Social and Emotional Learning is taught to enhance a child's problem solving skills, develop self-advocacy and executive functioning life skills. Bilingual and English as a Second Language instruction is provided for students grades Pre3, PK4, K through fifth grade. All teachers at Boone are certified ESL teachers and have received the required 30 hours of GT foundation training. Boone provides interventions and services to students with special needs, dyslexia, and 504. Our reading specialists and staff provide tutoring, Early Morning Intervention (EMI) and learning labs. Our learning lab provides small group instruction during the day to help develop and reinforce concepts taught in the classrooms. These programs, initiatives, and strategies provide each child success in academics, creative arts, and citizenship.
