Dear Business Colleagues, For 37 years, Melbourne High School Crew Team has been helping the youth of our community discover the life-long sport of rowing. Every season, more than 60 area youth from Brevard County participate in our competitive and skill building programs. During the summer, our developmental program draws student-athletes who desire to join Mel Hi Crew in the Fall. We travel the state representing Melbourne at the most competitive regattas available for junior rowers and we believe as you learn more about Mel Hi Crew, you will want to be a part of this exciting sport. Competitive rowing is growing in popularity nationally, in Florida and Brevard County. There are more than 50 clubs and high school teams in Florida, which includes hundreds of rowers. You may have seen the long, slender shells as they glide across the Indian River, propelled by the synchronous and powerful strokes of eight student athletes, guided by a ninth who sets the cadence. Our team participates in nine regattas annually, including the famous Head of the Hooch in Tennessee and we expect to qualify for Nationals. We have competed at Nationals every year for the last 20 years where we face the best teams in the U.S. Thousands of spectators see us in action during the year, and we think you will be excited to be seen as one of our sponsors, as well. Mel Hi Crew is the only High School Scholastic Rowing Team in Brevard County and we are entirely supported by parents, volunteers and fundraising; all funds are invested in the program and used for equipment, coaching, and competition. We receive no funds from the high school. To improve our opportunities for success, we have developed a corporate sponsorship program.
