FOYA Uganda’s primary goal is to create educational opportunities in Uganda for American university students. Every summer, a group of students travels to Uganda to participate in programs with our Ugandan project partners. The projects vary from year to year, but focus mainly on the areas of health and wellness, literacy, gender equity, and community engagement in rural Ugandan primary and secondary schools. American students collaborate with Ugandan teachers and community leaders to develop curricula and implement projects that benefit the local communities. These projects are proposed and driven by our Ugandan project partners, who are in the best position to know the needs of their communities.
