Women United Women United of the United Way of LaPorte County has undertaken the lofty goal of eliminating generational poverty in our communities. Using a two-prong approach, we will help stakeholders and professionals increase their understanding of poverty, its causes and its effects, and the role each of us can play in removing the barriers for those who are caught in the spiral into poverty and/or the resulting cycle of generational poverty. Secondly, we will train local advocates to provide workshops in our community for individuals and families struggling to transition out of poverty.
