Dear Business Owner/Manager, Oranje Voetbal Club (OVC) is a California 501(c) non-profit youth soccer club in the eastern part of San Diego County. OVC serves the communities of San Carlos, Rancho San Diego, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, Santee, Del Cerro, La Mesa and El Cajon. We have brought together progressive coaches and a unique set of ideals to assure the best possible environment for the development of young players. We are dedicated to rejuvenating youth soccer, while teaching the core values of teamwork, dedication, commitment, integrity, hard work, and leadership. These skill sets translate from the soccer world into everyday life. Unlike many large soccer clubs, OVC feels soccer youth soccer should not be operated like a typical business. OVC is a small club. Every coach knows almost every player. Our players are not a number; our players are your children, and are our future. The primary focus of OVC is developing both the mental and physical skills and talent of our players to their highest level possible both as individuals and as teammates. Player development is more important than winning games. In the long run, winning games is the result of successful player and team development. However, the reality is that running a non-profit soccer club is getting more expensive. In order to maintain this level of commitment, it takes much needed funds for field rental costs, equipment, referee fees, tournament and travel costs, player scholarships (experiencing the benefits of youth soccer should be available to children from all financial backgrounds), and especially The Mighty Lions (OVC’s soccer clinic for mentally and physically challenged youth; children who otherwise may never be able to experience soccer).
